Genotyping
The latest sequencing and genotyping technologies and resources will be used to characterise the germplasm of wheat lines of interest identified in this project. Common platforms will be used to screen germplasm developed during the project. The data generated will enable genetic map construction, QTL and association mapping. Panels of markers will be developed for QTL regions and candidate genes identified during the project as important for nitrogen uptake efficiency, utilisation efficiency and partitioning. Key equipment that will support the joint research are the Affymetrix Genetitan and the LGC Genomics KASP platforms which are already in place in Bristol and Delhi (NRCPB).
