Searching with blast
This search form allows you to enter a single DNA sequence for comparison to sequences held in the Mu insertion flanking sequence database. The sequence you enter should be bare text, just composed of C's, A's, T's and G's plus ambiguity codes. Spaces, line breaks, numbers, and any other non-letter characters will be removed automatically (you will be warned if there were any). Your sequence does not have to fit in to the box, as scroll bars will appear if it is very large. There is a 32 Kilobase size limit on input sequences (the maximum size for web form input). If you want to blast larger sequences against the database, contact us. You should not have a fasta header line at the top of the sequence, as this may cause the search to fail. You can type a sequence in to the box by hand, but it's probably easier to use copy and paste (just click in the box then do EDIT PASTE from your browser menu, or simply use ctrl+v). When your sequence is in the box, click on the submit query button to launch a search.
